Woman, daughter die after being forced to swallow poison
Rajkot, Apr 20 (UNI) A young woman and her two-year-old daughter died after they were allegedly compelled to swallow poison by the victim's in-laws at Nagra village in Surendranagar district recently.
Police have arrested the father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law on the basis of a dying declaration by the woman.
Police said Manjuben Solanki (23) and her two-year-old daughter Sanju were forced to consume pesticides on April 17. Both were admitted to the Surendranagar Civil hospital where the girl died on the same day while the woman breathed her last yesterday.
The woman, in her dying declaration, had stated that her in-laws often tortured her physically and mentally. The in-laws had first forced the daughter to swallow the poison and later forced her to do the same.
