Turkish Armed Forces chief visits Western Naval Command
Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Turkish Armed Forces Chief General Hilmi Ozkok today met Western Naval Command Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Admiral Sangram Singh Byce here.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Headquarters Western Naval Command this morning, General Ozkok, who is the 24th Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces, was received by a 50-men guard of honour, a release issued here said.
He later interacted with the senior officials of the Indian Navy and was briefed on the works of the Western Naval Command, followed by a visit to frontline ship - INS Trishul, museum ship - Vikrant and heritage sites inside naval dockyard.
The General had arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit, with the aim of strengthening Indo-Turkish defence ties, especially in the field of naval cooperation.
A reception was hosted in the honour of the General, who was accompanied by his wife and four staff officers, at Western Naval Command Officers mess, the release said.
