Third Front must to uphold real secularism: Naidu
Visakhapatnam, Apr 20: TDP leader and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said it was high time the Third Front he had mooted to fight against both the Congress and the BJP at the Centre became a reality to uphold real secularism.
''We are mobilising support of like-minded parties to fight against pseudo-secularists, communalists and the anti-people economic policies of the UPA government, he told newspersons here.
The TDP president said his stand that smaller states would have administrative problems and political instability. ''The BJP is talking of Telangana to derive political mileage and not out of any concern to the people of Telangana region,'' he also claimed.
On Gangavaram port issue, he alleged the state government was not concerned about the plight of the poor fishermen whose livelihood was at stake due to construction of the port in public private partnership.
The government had failed to announce a suitable relief and rehabilitation package, he added.
At least now, the government should address the genuine concerns of the fishermen, he said.
