TDP leaders victims of state sponsored attacks: Naidu

Visakhapatnam, Apr 20 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders in Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh are becoming victims of state sponsored attack and the recent killing of Dharmavaram legislator K Suryapratap Reddy was a chilling example of this, TDP leader and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged today.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that the Congress government was bent on eliminating its political opponents.

He said the state government must be held responsible for the spate of killings in Rayalaseema. The government must take urgent steps to prevent further bloodshed and maintain law and order.

''The TDP is at the receiving end of the state-sponsored attacks.

Its leaders are being made targets both politically and physically.

Income tax and sales tax raids were conducted on their businesses without valid reasons with the sole intention of harassing them, while its leaders are being physically eliminated,'' he claimed.

He alleged 87 persons were killed in faction feuds, 27 in Anantpur district along,during the present congress rule but the government was keeping mum.
