Stroke of another kind, Hussain captures Abu Dhabi stadium in canvas
Abu Dhabi, Apr 20 (UNI) After Madhuri Dixit and Tabu, cricket seems M F Hussain's new muse as the barefooted painter captured in canvas the Sheikh Zayed Stadium during the second and last India-Pakistan ODI here last night.
Though there were expectations, it was not confirmed whether the nonagenarian painter would eventually make it to the stadium but Hussain finally arrived here from Dubai to attend the match and made a sketch of the stadium.
According to Gulf News, Hussain is also planning an exhibition cricket match in Dubai and also appreciated the stadium here that hosted two India-Pakistan charity matches to raise fund for last year's victims in Kashmir.
''I was a bit busy, but finally found time to come and watched the match in one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world,'' he said.
''I have visited a number of places and each ground has an unique sound and this one has its own too. I am enjoying every bit of it,'' he added.
The artist with white flowing beard shied away when asked about his favourite cricketer even though he had called up Sachin Tendulkar to congratulate the Little Master for scoring his 35th Test century and then reached his house to paint his portraits.
''Cricket is a game of chance. One person performs well one day, while the other does a good job on another day. I like the game in all,'' he said, adding both India India and Pakistan have become dominant sides in world cricket.
