Sonia's poll manager son Rahul in Rae Bareli

Lucknow, Apr 20: Lok Sabha MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi today reached Rae Bareli to supervise campaign for his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, seeking re-election to parliament in the May eight by-election from the constituency.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee sources earlier in the day, said here that Rahul, who is also Ms Gandhi's election manager, would interact with District Congress leaders and workers to ensure a record voter turnout for the May eight bypoll.

This time, however, Rahul will not visit his neighbouring parliamentary constiuency of Amethi, but concentrate on the Rae Bareli bypoll only, sources added.

Party sources claimed that Rahul would motivate perk up Congress leaders of areas, which registered a poor turn out during the 2004 election.
