Silver, gold reach new highs in opening session

Mumbai, Apr 20: Prices of spot silver and gold reached their highest, crossing the Rs 22,000-mark and Rs 9,400-mark respectively in the opening session today on bullish global advice, traders at the bullion market said.

Following were the rates: Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade : Rs 22,535, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint: : Rs 9,420, Gold 99.9 purity variety : Rs 9,465.
