Rs 1208 crore being spent on education in HP, says CM
Shimla, Apr 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has said his government is spending a sum of Rs 1,208 crore on education and construction of science blocks in all the senior secondary schools of the state.
While addressing Rampur Busheher Student Welfare Association here yesterday, he said the government proposed to open eight colleges, 50 senior secondary, 25 high and 200 middle school as per needs in this financial year.
Mr Singh said 35,000 employment avenues were being created in the government sector during the current year, while over 25,000 avenues were created during the last year.
Employment oriented courses were being introduced in the ITIs, which would provide skilled manpower to the new industrial units being set up in the state, he added.
Civil Supplies and Horticulture minister Singhi Ram was also present on the occasion.
