Pondy CM, among others files papers for second phase poll

Pondicherry, Apr 20 (UNI) Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet collegue A Namasivayam and former chief minister V Vaithilingam were among those, who filed their nomination papers today, the last day of filing nominations for the May eight second phase assembly elections Pondicherry.

So far about 190 candidates had filed their papers from 21 constituencies in Pondicherry region and six in Karaikal region of the Union Territory.

The filing of nominations will come to an end at 1500 HRS today. The scrutiny will take place tomorrow and the last day for withdrawal is April 24.
