Parvez Dewan is new ITDC CMD

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) Mr Parvez Dewan has taken over as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

An IAS officer of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, Mr Dewan has had a long stint as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir.

He is currently the Resident Commissioner at the J and K House in the capital city.

He replaces Mr M S Manchanda, who was holding charge of CMD for nearly a year, following the removal of senior IAS officers Amitabh Kant and Rajiv Talwar reportedly in the wake of their differences with the then Tourism Minister Renuka Chowdhury.

Mr Manchanda will continue to work at the ITDC as a Vice-President.
