Panchayat Mahila Shakti drive soon
New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj has launched a nationwide programme to conduct statewise conferences for elected women representatives.
The programme, named Panchayat Mahila Shakti Abhiyan, is being started in collaoration with the State Government and NGOs, says an official release. The programmes begins in Rajasthan.
A two-day conference, first in the series, will be held at Udaipur from April 23, in which about 350 representatives of the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Rajasthan Government, National Women Commission representatives, NGOs and district and village level officials and women sarpanchas would participate.
Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Mani Shankar Aiyar, National Women Commission Chairperson Girija Vyas and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje, among others, will interact with delegates.
