Aizawl, Apr 20: The Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), has demanded a detailed inspection of the buildings in the New Capital Complex constructed by the state PWD and the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC).
Talking to the medipersons, head of the Action Committee Lalzirliana claimed, ''Some of the buildings are not fit to be occupied.'' ''A particular building with quarters had one of its posts bent at an angle while another had a crack on one side,'' he added.
The Geology and Mining wing of the Industries department had complained last year that the NBCC had not consulted them on the soil and rock formation of the land before starting the construction.
PWD sources today said some of their contractors had been ordered to reconstruct the buildings because of their inferior construction.
