Mixed trend seen in the metal exchange
Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) A mixed trend was seen in the metal exchange today, traders at the metal exchange here said.
In ferrous section, copper heavy and brass utensils declined by Rs 300 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively in the absence of fresh demand. But copper utensils rose by Rs 200 per quintal on better buying support.
In non-ferrous section, the rates of copper wire bars and aluminium ingots eased by Rs 300 and Rs 50 per qauintal on increase of stock supply. But lead ingots went up by Rs 100 per quintal on reduced stock supply.
The prices of tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs ten each per kg on higher advice.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 35,000, copper utensils- Rs 32,000, brass utensils- Rs 23,500, brass cuttings- Rs 25,000 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,500.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 37,200, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,200, zinc slab- Rs 18,000, lead ingots- Rs 6,700, Tin slab- Rs 520 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 942 (per kg).
