Life imprisonment for 5 in murder case

Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, Apr 20 (UNI) A special court has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for murdering Surajbhan Lodhi, who was a witness in a murder case.

The special court of Additional Sessions Judge J M Chaturvedi yesterday awarded life imprisonment to Amar Singh, Dataram, Bharat, Pheran Singh and Mahendra Lodhi and fined Rs 5000 each while acquitting Sukhlal Lodhi, an accused, giving him benefit of doubt.

According to prosecution, the accused forced their entry into the house of Surajbhan of village Kachhouva near Pichhore in this district on the night of July 26, 2005 and asked him to change his statement in a murder case. As Surajbhan objected, he was taken to the nearby forest from where his body was found later.
