Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 20 (UNI) A 50-year-old headmaster of Garimellapeta High School, about 50 km from here, was arrested by the police today on charges of attempting to outrage the modesty of two minor girls who were his students.
Police Sub-Inspector P Rambabu, who is investigating the case, said the headmaster, identified as Muralidhar, took the girls to his house yesterday evening.
When his wife objected and asked him to send the girls to their homes, he allegedly took them to a lodge and kept them in a room.
When he made indecent advances to them under the influence of alcohol, the girls ran out of the room and informed the lodge manager who called the police.
Police rushed to the spot and arrested him in the wee hours of today. A case of attempt to rape was booked against.
Later, he was produced in the court where the magistrate remanded him in judicial custody, he added.
