Dayanidhi Maran criticises Jaya for discouraging IT company

Coimbatore, Apr 20 (UNI) Union IT and Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran today alleged that following non-cooperation from the Jayalalithaa government, Sem India, an IT Company which wanted to invest Rs 14,000 crore in the state, went to Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to newspersons here he said if that company had invested more than 15 lakh here, people would have got employment. The state government had ignored the offer only because this has been brought by him.

Stating that the people of Tamil Nadu would teach a lesson, in the assembly elections, to the AIADMK, Mr Maran alleged that a ''particular family owned'' distillary earned over Rs 6,000 crore.

If that money was diverted, the Government could give rice to the people free of cost.

When the DMK comes to power, the government would do this, he added.

He asked why the Chief Minister had not announced free rice in the AIADMK election manifesto. Out of fear of defeat, she is now announcing various schemes every day, he charged.

To a question, Mr Maran said actor-Rajya Sabha MP Sharathkumar leaving DMK would not affect the party, and claimed Mr Karunanidhi will form the next government with thumping majority.
