Creative Eye forays into cricket

Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Film star Dheeraj Kumar-promoted media and entertainment major Creative Eye, has forayed into sports by acquiring the rights of the EurAsia Cricket Series-06 and partnering with Sahara One in promoting this offshore cricket series, a release here today said.

The first edition of this tournament will be held in the Gulf Emirate of Abu Dhabi at the Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from April 22, 2006 to May 5, 2006.

BSNL is the title sponsor for the event which will feature the 'A' teams of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Making up the numbers for this six-nation event are cricket minnows Holland, Ireland and the UAE.

The teams are divided into two groups and Sahara will simulcast the 14 day-night ODIs on SaharaOne and the recently launched movie channel Filmy, informed the release.

For Creative Eye Limited, the entry into the cricketing arena is adding one more feather to its cap as it already has a very strong presence in television. Besides, it is also active in feature and ad films as well, stated the release.
