Bonus for districts achieving full annual targets :Azad

Jammu, Apr 20 (UNI) Unerlining the need for appraisal of expenditure and Registration of achievements under various development schemes, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad directed the district administration to ensure 80 per cent spending of plan expenditure by November .

Mr Azad ,addressing a Cabinet cum district development board meeting at Rajouri yesterday evening, said under the system an officer of special secretary rank would be appointed for each department. He will be assisted by a team of functionaries who will work in the field to compile and collect complete profile of developmental activities, funds spending and achievements registered on monthly basis and communicate the same to Government.

Every year, the districts which achieves full targets on account of funds spending and achievements, will get additionalfinancial support for development as bonus.

A review meeting will be held in every district in the month of November to get full appraisal of developmental activities at block level,he added.

Mr Azad directed that two big projects of urgent public utility in each Assembly constituency be identified for launching work on the double shifts to ensure completion within one year.

The Chief Minister said the corrupt officers would be booked while honest, dedicated and efficient will be given encouragement at all levels.

Besides all the Cabinet Ministers, members of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma ,Legislators of the state, all the senior officials of concerned departments including district development boards and tehsil and block level officer were present in the meeting.
