Blockade of Chhatisgarh-Jharkhand link road continue
Garhwa, Apr 20 (UNI) Irate mob aided by local opposition leaders blocked the Garhwa-Ambikapur highway, that links Jharkhand and neighbouring Chhattisgarh, since last night to protest death of nine people including five women in a road mishap here.
The accident also left eleven others seriously injured.
Many bauxite laden trucks and other long distance vehicles have been stranded on the highway.
The protestors were demanding presence of chief minister Arjun Munda to the spot and announce reliefs for the victims.
The accident occurred when a truck ran over a crowd of women and children, near Dumrunarayanpur village, 3 kms from this district headquarters town. The victims were going to perform 'matikor' (a matrimonial rite), official sources said.
