Dharwad, Apr 20: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party State President S Bangarappa today reiterated that there was a possibility of emergence of a third front at the national level after completion of the outcome of the assembly elections in five states.
Mr Bangarappa, who was here to participate in the protest rally organised by his party to condemn the failures of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and the JD (S)-BJP coalition government in the state, told newspersons that the Congress would certainly face defeat in the elections in the five states--Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and Pondicherry--and it would lead to the collapse of the UPA government.
He said his party would continue to organise such protest rallies across the state.
To a question, Mr Bangarappa said his party would contest on its own in the coming elections to the local bodies.
In Hubli, party workers staged a dharna in front of Chennamma circle.
