Attack on the journalists condemned

Imphal, Apr 20 (UNI) Political parties and social organisations of Manipur today condemned the detention of six editors by Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in Meitei.

The journalists of the state had staged a protest rally on Tuesday and no newspapers were published yesterday.

The Dharma Rakshak Samiti said the media should not be harassed.

Other social organisations also appealed to protect the freedom of the press.

V Satish, organising secretary of BJP in-charge of North East also condemned attack on mediapersons and demanded security for mediapersons.

He also listed the failures of the government in various issues and announced that the BJP would produce documents related to the failure of the government.

A joint meeting of the journalists and civil organisations would also be held today.
