47 Of marriage party killed in mishap

Guwahati, Apr 20: In one of the worst accidents in Asom 47 members of a marriage party were killed and 27 injured when their bus skidded off the road and fell into a pond in Sarupeta area about 130 kms from here, official reports reaching here today said.

Reports attributed the accident, which occurred late last night, to rash driving.

All the 47 bodies were recovered, the reports said, adding the injured were admitted to hospital.
