UP to ensure 24-hr electric supply for burn victims in Meerut

Meerut, Apr 19 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government's decision to ensure round-the-clock electric supply to Meerut till April 30 may provide succour to the injured in the April 10 Victoria Park fire here.

Dr Navneet Sharma of the Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College told UNI the decision of providing 24-hour electric supply to Meerut will help in healing the wounds of the burns victims as they are being treated by electric equipment.

He said VIPs' visits during crisis hinder treatment being provided to other patients.

Dr Sharma said healing of the burn wounds takes at least a month and added uninterrupted electric supply should be provided till May 10.
