Woman send to jail for possessing 89 live turtles

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) A city court has send a woman to jail for possessing 89 live Indian Soft Shelled turtles.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain send Omwati to judicial custody till May 1 for possessing the endangered species of turtles.

The court also ordered the turtles to be released in the Yamuna river.

Omwati had been caught from Najafgarh area in South West Delhi yesterday.

She had been charged under the provisions of Wildlife Protection Act.
