Three Naxalites killed in encounter in Orissa

Deogarh, Orissa, Apr 18 (UNI) Three Naxalites were killed in an encounter with the Orissa Police inside the dense forest of Badarama in Deogarh district today.

Acting on a tip-off, police launched a massive combing operation to flush out the left wing ultras.

Police had to open fire when the Naxalites challenged the police team engaged in combing operation, killing three Naxalites in the encounter, police officials informed.

Unable to face the police retaliation, the Naxalites fled from the scene leaving the bodies.

The district authority sounded a red alert in the district soon after the incident and mobilised the force to intensify the combing operation in the areas bordering Jharkhand to track the Naxalites hiding inside the deep forest.
