TDP to raise privilege issue against AP Govt
Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) Notwithstanding the Andhra Pradesh Government's decision not to cite Assembly proceedings in its case against five TDP legislators, the main opposition Party today decided to submit a privilege notice to Speaker K R Suresh Reddy tomorrow.
'The Government citing the proceedings in its original complaint with the Director General of Police amounts to breach of privilege of members of the house,' TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader T Devender Goud told a press meet here after a meeting of party leaders chaired by TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu.
Stating the TDP was ready for a probe by the forensic science lab on papers submitted by it to prove alleged Rs 400 crore fraud in the Sripadasagar project, he sought to know who had given permission for Government to refer to Assembly proceedings while complaining against the TDP. ''With whose permission did it withdraw the complaint and give a fresh one,?'' he asked.
Accusing the Congress Government of trying to stifle the voice of the opposition, he said his party would not succumb to political blackmail.
We will prove corruption in the irrigation initative'.
Mr Goud claimed the Government was acting with political vengeance by issuing a notificaton for acquiring his ancestral property in Srinagar village on the pretext of developing an integrated township.
