Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) Terming as ''totally baseless and blatantly irresponsible'' the allegations of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that Congress government was responsible for the murder of former Dharmavaram MLA and TDP leader Suryapratap Reddy alias Sureedu today at Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy said Sureedu was close to him for the last 45 years.
He said he had recently sanctioned Rs 4 lakh from CM Relief Fund for Sureedu for kidney transplant at a corporate hospital here.
Dr Reddy said though Sureedu switched to TDP, he was very close to him.
Dr Reddy said police have sent special teams to trace the culprits.
''Only in Anantapur, factionism is prevalent compared to other districts in the state. We are trying to curb it,'' he said.
