Six cops suspended over hooch tragedy

Basti, Apr 18 (UNI) Six police personnel including a station officer have been suspended in connection with the hooch tragedy that claimed three lives under the Itwa area of neighbouring Siddharthnagar district.

DIG (Basti Range) Brihaspati Mani Tripathi here today said station officer of Itwa police station Ram Ekbal, Jigna police outpost in charge Om Prakash Bhatt and four constables Ramapati Tiwari, Narayan Rai, Lallan Prasad and Ershad Hussain have been suspended in connection with yesterday's incident.

Police have arrested two persons in connection with the tragedy.

Three labourers Dharamraj, Lammal and Bechai died after consuming spurious liquor yesterday night in Parsa Bujurg village.
