Rajkot Mayor welcomes SC decision over Narmada dam

Rajkot, Apr 18 (UNI) Rajkot Mayor Dhansukh Bhanderi welcomed the decision of Supreme Court for continuing the construction work on the Narmada dam and criticised those who were objecting to increasing the height and construction work.

Mr Bhanderi came down heavily on Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz who recomanded to supsend the construction work on the project till rehabilitation of the am oustees was completed.

''It is a victory of Gujarat people, '' Mr Bhanderi said in a release here.
