Prakash, Bopanna in round two
Chikmagalur, Karnataka, Apr 18 (UNI) Davis Cuppers Prakash Amritraj and Rohan Bopanna entered the second round of the 25,000 dollar ATP Challenger Championship even as compatriots Navdeep Singh and Kiran Nandkumar fell by the wayside here today.
Top seed Hyung-Taik Lee of Korea, fourth seed Lukaz Kubot of Poland and fifth seed Paval Snobel of Czechoslovakia also entered the second round winning their respective matches.
Seeded seventh, Bopanna scalped qualifier Kamil Capkovic of Slovakia 6-3, 6-2 in 65 minutes.
In the doubles, second seeded Thai twins Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana defeated Adrian Cruciat of Romania and Aleksandar Vlaski of Serbia Montenegro 7-6 (7-4), 7-5, while fourth seed Yen-Haun Lu of Taipei and Danai Udomchoke of Thailand defeated Kamala Kannan and Vijay Kannan of India 7-5, 6-4 to enter the quarterfinals.
Indian pair Ravishankar Pathanjali and Vinod Sridhar defeated Japan pair Go Soeda and Toshihide Matsui 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 to enter the last eight stage.
