Patna, Apr 18 (UNI) LJP chief and Union Chemicals, Fertilizer and Steel minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said despite best efforts by the Centre, Bihar was not able to make economic progress due to poor law and order sitation.
Mr Paswan told newspersons here that a better law and order situation was the first condition for economic development of any state but the Nitish Kumar government ''failed'' to rein on criminals after coming to power nearly five months back.
''The situation had only become from ''bad to worse'' since the NDA occupied the seat of power,'' he said.
Noting the Centre was serious about improving the image of Bihar, he alleged that the Nitish Kumar government was ''dishonouring'' all the pre-poll promises.
He said his party had decided to launch an agitation against the state government in September.
