Police pick up offenders in TN capital

Chennai, Apr 18 (UNI) The city police have taken into custody over 1,700 offenders against whom non-bailable arrest warrants had been pending in the last few days, acting on an Election Commission directive.

Police said here today in the last two months, 72 persons had been detained under Goondas Act for various offences, including disturbing law and order, criminal acts, prohibition and prostitution.
