Minister gheroed by villagers

Pondicherry, Apr 18 (UNI) The villagers of Dharmapuri in Ozhukarai constituency today gheroed Pondicherry Agriculture Minister A Namasivayam and prevented him from entering the village for convassing.

The villagers were protesting against the failure of the minister to provide them free house site pattas for them during his last tenure as agriculture minister.

Police rushed to the spot on hearing the news and brought the situation under control. Later, Mr Namasivayam sought the support of the villagers to him in the elections.
