Metal prices rises on fresh industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 18 (UNI) Metal prices rose on reduced stock supply along with London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange said today.
In ferrous section : copper heavy shot up by Rs 1,300 per quintal while copper utensils, brass utensils and brass cuttings rose by Rs 1,000 each per quintal on lack of fresh demand.
In non-ferrous section : zinc slab, copper wire bars and lead ingots hiked by Rs 400, Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal, respectively, on reduced stock supply.
Tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs five each per kg, on better buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 34,800, copper utensils- Rs 31,500, brass utensils- Rs 24,000, brass cuttings- Rs 25,000 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,200.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 35,500, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,100, zinc slab- Rs 17,500, lead ingots- Rs 6,600, Tin slab- Rs 505 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 920 (per kg).
