'Looter' GRP men train guns at RPF raiding party
Lucknow, Apr 18 (UNI) A group of GRP men accused of looting passengers aboard Jan Sewa Express, today trained guns on a RPF team, which had gone to the Gonda railway station to investigate commuters' complaint.
Divisional Commercial Manager (North-Eastern Railway) Shishir Somvanshi -- who led the raid -- told UNI here he, alongwith a few RPF men had gone to the Gonda railway station to investigate the complaints of passengers of Amritsar-Darbangha Jan Sewa Express that they were regularly robbed of their belongings by a few miscreants.
When RPF caught hold of the culprits, they turned out to be Government Railway Police personnel. One accused, meanwhile managed to reach the GRP post and returned with a rifle.
''He trained the weapon at senior commandant of Railway Protection Force...this forced us to flee the spot,'' Somvanshi said.
He claimed the NER had lodged an FIR at Gorakhpur, the NER headquaters. ''We will inform the Chief Minister, DGP, and Principal Secretary (Home) of the incident as GRP is a state subject.'' UNI NAB VS SRS RS1411
