Irate mob attacks hospital after a youth's death

Pune, Apr 18 (UNI) An irate mob today vandalised the Pune Cantonment hospital following a death of a youth after an operation.

Police said Imran Shiekh (18), who was admitted to the hospital yesterday with a complaint of some throat complaint, did not regain his consciousness after the operation till this morning.

His parents kept calling the doctors, but when a doctor came, he declared the youth dead.

The parents informed their relatives and soon a mob of around 350 people arrived from Kasarwari and pelted stones and went on a rampage.

Meanwhile, Imran's mother Zeanab lodged a complaint of negligence against the doctor.

The police have detained Dr Sant, who was attending the deceased, and recorded his statement.
