Govt staff postpone stir as Govt concedes some demands
Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) The Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers, representing over a million state Government employees, decided to suspend its stir as the state Government today partly conceded its demands including release of Dearness Allowance on par with Central Government employees.
In talks between the Government and a delegation of JAC members, Chief Minister Y S Rajshekhara Reddy agreed to release one instalment of DA on par with Central Government staff now and release the second instalment in June, Committee Secretary General D Sudhakar told reporters here.
The Government agreed to constitute a three-member committee to look into their 35 demands within two months and get the report of the Rangachary Commission on eight other demands by next month.
Their demands included crediting pay revision arrears from April one, 2005 to July 31, 2005 into Provident Fund accounts of employees.
