FNS launches innovative table cutlery, to diversify

Kolkata, Apr 18: FNS India, which has launched a wide range of stainless steel table cutlery to grab the country's Rs 125 crore cutlery market, now plans to diversify into trading of crystal and silver cutlery to meet the growing demand among the country's elite.

Further elaborating, he said keeping this in mind they had already joined hands with two leading manufacturers of table cutlery in China and planned to import more than two million units of their unique products from next year itself. In case of higher demands the imports of would be more, he said.

Referring to his marketing strategy for the stainless steel cutlery sets whose price range varied between Rs 500 for four pieces to Rs 6,000 for 26 pieces set, Mr Jain said conceptualised by the best cutlery designers from Italy, France and Scandanavia the FNS cutlery collection was aimed at supplying tasteful, modern and contemporary products like dinner spoons, forks, table knives, serving spoons and tea spoons to Indian customers at 'affordable prices'.

"Follwing the appointment of more than 800 distributors across the country we are expecting to take FNS India's annual turnover to Rs five crores by March next before reaching the Rs 25 crore mark by 2010", Mr jain said adding that at least 10 per cent of their total business would come from the star hoteliers.

"We have also earmarked Rs two crores for a nationwide advertisement campaign to popularise our products this year," the Company's Managing Director informed while replying to a related query.

Asked about the possiblity of any overseas venture, particularly to the Indian subcontinent, Mr Jain replied in the negative. "We are presently concentrating on grabing the Indian cutlery market only and has no immediate plan to look overseas", he said.
