Delimitation Commission to hold three public sittings in HP

Shimla, Apr 18 (UNI) The Delimitation Commission will hold three public sittings in Himachal Pradesh on April 21, 23 and 25 for considering any suggestion or objections submitted to it, Chief Electoral Officer Prem Kumar said today.

Objections or suggestions relating to Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur, and Una districts would be heard on April 21, at Government Polytechnic College at Kangra, while similar public sittings for Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur and Lahaul and Spiti districts would be held on April 23 at Vipasha Sadan, Mandi from 1000 hrs, he informed.

Mr Kumar said public sitting for Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, Kinnaur district and Spiti Sub-Division of Lahaul and Spiti district would be held on April 25 at Shimla from 1000 hrs.

The Delimitation Commission of India had published its draft delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies of Himachal on March 27.

The proposals were also published in Himachal Pradesh State Gazette of March 27 besides two dailies for general information of the public.

He said the copies of state gazette containing the delimitation proposals were available with the chief electoral Officer at Shimla and district election officers in the districts.
