New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) Lambasting the ruling Congress in Delhi for its utter failure in taking a clear and firm action on the sealing issue, the traders have today said the inability of the state Government to pressurise the Centre to bring an Ordinance to halt the sealing action showed a lack of will on their part.
''Why the Delhi leaders of Congreess party are unable to mount pressure on Union Government when they are ruling the MCD, Assembly and Centre as well. The Delhi MPs must take inspirations from Gujarat MPs. While the MPs of Gujarat, leaving aside their political affilations, have gone to Prime Minister with one voice on the Narmada issue, the Delhi MPs are still keeping their fingers crossed,''they said.
In a communication to Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, the traders urged her to lead an all party delegation, including trade representatives, to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to apprise him of the gravity of the situation and impress upon him to bring an immediate ordinance or bill to save Delhi trade from sealing action.
Meanwhile, the five-day protest Dharna of Delhi traders on sealing of shops issue entered its second day today with hundreds of trade leaders belonging to more than 40 trade bodies participating.
