Day temperatures go up in Assam, Karnataka

Pune, Apr 18 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka and were above normal in coastal Tamil Nadu.

They were markedly below normal in Orissa, Jharkhand, West Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, North interior Karnataka and in some parts of Marathwada and were appreciably below normal in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, East Rajasthan, Gujarat region and North Madhya Maharashtra.

They were below normal in some parts of Punjab, Saurashtra, Kutch and South interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Marathwada.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manaipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh State, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and at isolated places in Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Karnataka State and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and at isolated places in Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep.
