Criminal wanted in 50 cases shot dead

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) Police shot dead this evening one of Delhi's most wanted criminals, listed in more than 50 cases including eleven murders, in an encounter in Wazirabad area.

Deepak Jat, who had recently escaped from a Ghaziabad court while on police remand, was killed in an encounter with Special Cell sleuths near Wazirabad pontoon bridge, according to a senior police official.

A dreaded Western Uttar Pradesh criminal, Deepak was involved in more than 50 cases in Delhi and adjoining areas of the NCR, the officer added.
