CM holds talks with office bearers

Pondicherry, Apr 18 (UNI) Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today held talks with the Congress party office bearers in Thirubhuvanai in a bid to compromise with them.

The Thirubhuvanai Congress office bearers levelled several charges against the sitting member P Angalan, who was renominated for the May 8 elections and demanded a change in the candidate, failing which they would boycott election work.

Sensing danger, the Chief Minister rushed to Thirubhuvanai today and convened a meeting in which he urged them to bury differences and work for the victory of the offical Congress candidate.

Only a section of the party office bearers turned up for the meeting.
