Car navigation system now in Bangalore
Bangalore, Apr 18 (UNI) India's first navigation system, Satguide, with map data of Bangalore, was launched here today by the Hyderabad-based SatNav Technologies.
Satguide was a state-of-the-art pocket PC-based touch screen navigation device that could enable users in Bangalore to navigate around the city with ease. SatNav Technologies had partnered with Nippon Audiotronix to make the product available here, Nippon Audiotronix National Sales Manager Sandeep Arora told reporters.
Satguide would allow the user to choose the best possible route once the destination address was entered. It would display a map on the screen and prompt the user through voice commands on directions to take. Additionally, the system was built in with a comprehensive database of 22 categories, including public utility, emergency services and entertainment locations.
It had in-built GPS receivers that receive signals from three of the 24 GPS satellites orbiting the earth.
