BSF seizes smuggled goods, narcotics
Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) In a month long special anti-narcotic drive, BSF jawans have seized huge quantity of heroin,ganja and other narcotics besides, forest product worth more than Rs 65 crores from different areas of Indo-Bangladesh borders in Tripura, Assam and Mizoram.
Claiming it to be one of the highest seizures by the BSF in Eastern and Northeast India, BSF sources said here today that among other contraband seized during the March operation were cattle heads, readymade garments and foreign-made sarees.
Altogether 75 Indians and 102 Bangladeshis were also arrested during the period on charge of crossing the Indo-Bangladesh international border without valid documents, the sources added.
