Beetle crop worth Rs 25 lakh destroyed by fire

Mahoba, Apr 18 (UNI) Beetle crop worth Rs 25 lakh has been destroyed in a fire in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

In the second incident of such fire within one week, standing Deshawari beetle crop worth Rs 25 lakh was destroyed in the fire last night on the Kanpur-Sagar National Highway, wreaking havoc with the interests of 12 families of beetle farmers, official sources said today.

The fire is likely to mar the export of the famous beetle to West Asia and Pakistan, sources added.
