Workshop on psychosocial care for Kashmir quake survivors

Srinagar, Apr 17 (UNI) A workshop on psychosocial care for survivors of the devastating earthquake of October 8 last year was organised at Tangmarg in north Kashmir today.

The workshop was jointly organised by the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore besides CARE India, an NGO, at Tangmarg, about 40 km from here.

The programme is aimed at imparting training to about 600 personnel from health, education, social welfare, NGOs for providing psychosocial relief to survivors of the killer earthquake in the Kashmir valley, particularly in worst-hit Uri and Tangdhar areas.

Various guidelines and booklets about the psychosocial relief were released on the occasion.
