Tiruchirapalli, Apr 17 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) and Grama Koil Poojari Peravai had decided to support the BJP and Janata Party(JP) in the May eight assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Talking to newspersons here, VHP International Vice President S Vedantham said a resolution to this effect was adopted unanimously at the state-level office-bearers meeting of the VHP and Peravai held here last evening.

He said since the BJP and JP had promised to take up the grievances of Peravai members, as well as VHP's demands, it has decided to support both the parties. The support would also be extended to those, who forged an alliance with the BJP,, if they are ready to accept VHP and Peravai's demands, he added.

Mr Vedantham said VHP would be the deciding factor in 60 to 65 constituencies, as it has strong presence in 15 districts in Tamil Nadu, such as, Nilgris, Tiruvannamalai, Erode, Kanyakumari, Cuddalore, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, among others.

On the recent bomb blasts at Jama Masjid in New Delhi, he alleged that there was an international conspiracy to create insecurity and to cause panic among the people of the country.

He alleged that similar blasts might occur elsewhere in the country, hence the Centre should dealt with it severely.
