Veerappan's widow files nomination
Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, Apr 17 (UNI) Forest brigand Veerappan's widow Muthulakshmi today filed her nomination to contest the Pennagaram seat as an independent in the May eight Tamil Nadu Assembly election.
Accompanied by her supporters, 35-year-old Muthulakshmi filed her papers before the Returning Officer A Abdul Kalam Azad.
In her affidavit, Muthulakshmi declared that she had deposits to the tune of Rs three lakh in the State Bank of Mysore in Salem.
She also had a deposit of Rs 40,000 in the Mechery Cooperative Bank and owned a plot at Suramangalam in Salem town. She had taken a loan of Rs 34,000 from the Primary Agriculture Co-operative Bank at Mechery, she declared.
Ms Muthulakshmi stated that she was facing a criminal case at Satyamangalam Judicial Magistrate.
