Temperature dip in HP as snow and rain continues

Shimla, Apr 17 (UNI) Temperatures continued to dip in Himachal Pradesh after higher altitude areas of the state had intermittent snowfall for the third day today, while the lowers had scattered rainfall during the last 24 hrs.

The higher areas of Kinnuar, Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts, Pangi and Bharmaour areas of Chamba district and mighty Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra district were receiving snowfall for the third day today.

Kalpa in Kinnuar district recorded 18.1 cm of rain followed by five cm of fresh snowfall, Patseio in Lahaul-Spiti recorded 35 cms, while Dhundi in Kullu district recorded 19 cm of snow and 9.5 mm of rains.

Keylong, district headquarter of Lahual-Spiti, had received 35 cms of snow and official sources said Koksar and Tandi areas of the district had received 60 and 45 cms of snowfall respectively.

Rohtang Pass (13,050 feet high) had also recorded 60 to 65 cms of snowfall during the last three days.

The sources said power supply was disrupted at Kelyong and other adjoining areas of Lahaul-Spiti district since last night and traffic on several roads were disrupted due to fresh snowfall.
